In a major initiative toward promoting healthcare awareness and community welfare, the Indian Army organised a medical camp at Army Goodwill School, Trehgam. The initiative was aimed at providing medical aid and counselling to students and other local residents, in keeping with the Army’s ongoing commitment to improving accessibility to vital health care in the region.

Professional doctors from the Army Medical Corps (AMC) held the medical camp to provide medical consultation, general health check-up and guidance to the individuals visiting the event. The initiative allowed students and other visitors the opportunity to receive medical advice and learn more about their health issues. Attendees could access basic healthcare consultations and expert advice by directly interacting with medical professionals.

An important part of the initiative was orientation toward raising health awareness of schoolchildren and the local population. Regular health check-ups and timely medical advice is important to maintain overall well-being, especially of young students. Such initiatives also help to raise people’s awareness of their health and to encourage them to be more proactive about preventive healthcare. The Army by organising the camp in the school premises helped in bringing the medical consultation closer to the students and residents of Trehgam and adjoining areas of Kupwara.

The initiative is part of the Indian Army’s broader community outreach under Sadbhavana Initiative, aimed at generating goodwill, cementing civil-military relations and bolstering the socio-economic development of local communities. The Army has also continued to engage the population through various welfare orientated activities such as education, healthcare and community development. Medical outreach programs in particular are a key means of addressing basic health-care needs while raising awareness of the importance of seeking medical attention in a timely manner.

The organization of the medical camp at Army Goodwill School, Trehgam is a reflection of the importance of working together in strengthening the health and well-being of the community. Besides offering the medical consultation, such programs help to strengthen the importance of healthcare awareness and preventive health practices among students and local residents.

Under initiatives undertaken, the Indian Army continues to demonstrate its commitment toward community welfare by extending support beyond its operational responsibilities and contributing toward overall well-being of people in the region. The medical camp is yet another example of these sustained efforts to build stronger community connections through healthcare outreach and public welfare.
